Well, I'm home. I was noticeably less stressed and anxious while in Tennessee visiting my family. Now that I've returned I can feel the ever-present low levels of anxiety, just waiting to be pushed to higher levels. Friday's drive went fairly well. Half of the trip was through long stretches of rural highway in Kentucky … Continue reading Tennessee Visit, Etc.
Returning Home Tomorrow
It's totally normal to feel a little sick at the thought of going home, right? Sigh. On a more positive note, in spite of how my dad feeds me (good, and too much) and less exercise this past week, I am down to a size 8. Much closer to the size 6 I was pre-pregnancy. … Continue reading Returning Home Tomorrow
Uncomfortable Complication
Had a conversation with H today. I wanted to give him a heads up about what happened with my husband, just in case things go majorly south for me in the next few months. Specifically, the incident where my husband claimed we had a conversation where I asked about having his name removed from our … Continue reading Uncomfortable Complication
9/5
But has he tried dating people? I know it's not really a respectable blog post. I spent 6 hours looking at pricy handcrafted items in the Gatlinburg area with my dad and his friend G. I'm still stuck using my phone. This is the best I'm gonna do for now!
Quick Update
Well it turns out my dad is more of a tech troglodyte than I was - he doesn't have wi-fi. I am stuck using my phone. Having a good time, though, and definitely more relaxed than I was at home. Have one picture because I can't get the rest to upload.
Vacation
Friday was a nice day for a drive. I realized, the day before, that my trip to Tennessee would be the first time I'd been away from home without my kids, my husband, or both, since before I got married. I was instantly even more excited for my trip. The first half of the drive … Continue reading Vacation
The Fanatics of Utrum
I was not kidding when I said I have a lot of ideas for stories with vampires. This is the opening of another that I worked on somewhere around 2016, I think. Admittedly, this story was going to include a wide range of fantasy creatures and be more reminiscent of a setting you might find … Continue reading The Fanatics of Utrum
Sleepless Again
I noticed at 9:54 that my husband was putting on another episode of TV for the boys. I said that would go past 10, and my husband said it would only be 20 minutes past. I expressed that I would prefer not to go 20 minutes past, and pointed out they could move to the … Continue reading Sleepless Again
Childhood Nostalgia
I'm neither highly sentimental nor highly nostalgic, but I had a moment of nostalgia today when I came across this giant, human-sized culvert. As a child I used to love culverts, and would get down on my hands and knees to peer inside, and even crawl inside if one was large enough to accommodate me. … Continue reading Childhood Nostalgia
Needs and Boundaries
My husband and I have been together for 18 years, married for 16. Over the course of our relationship I experienced stress related to circumstances outside of our control, which was understandable, as well as stress related to major decisions my husband made for us because I believed, at the time, that I was supposed … Continue reading Needs and Boundaries
